The College of Legal Practice are pleased to announce their collaboration with Acuity Law on the creation of an innovative SQE programme.
Award winning commercial law firm Acuity Law has chosen to work with The College of Legal Practice to offer a comprehensive and innovative SQE programme for their trainees.
Acuity Law are one of the first firms to offer a range of qualification routes that incorporates SQE preparation training for their trainees starting this autumn. Training contracts include a SQE generalist and specialist trainee programmes, and a programme for non-law graduates.
The training provide by The College of Legal Practice integrates with the trainees’ work experience, giving trainees opportunities to start legal work within the firm before completing their SQE2 study and assessments.
Dr Giles Proctor, CEO of the College, said: “”We are delighted to have worked closely in conjunction with Acuity Law to devise a flexible programme of study that will allow their trainees to undertake SQE1 and SQE2 preparatory courses whilst undertaking their Qualifying Work Experience with the firm.
Acuity are also pioneering a non- law graduate route for their future trainees which incorporates our Graduate Foundation in Law (GFL) programme to give their young lawyers a solid foundation for qualification. Acuity are taking the opportunity given by the flexibility of the new qualification regime to rethink their pathways to qualification and give their future lawyers a really excellent start in their careers with the firm”.

The “one fits all approach” of the traditional training contract limits both law firms and candidates and we want to break those traditional barriers.
