About The Role

Join a dynamic, innovative UK law firm with a strong reputation for delivering forward-thinking solutions to complex legal challenges. We’re expanding our planning team and seeking a skilled Planning Lawyer with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience at a respected UK law firm. This is a unique opportunity to work with an established team of planning experts, contribute to significant projects, and be part of an ambitious growth phase.

As a Planning Lawyer, you’ll advise on high-value, complex planning and infrastructure matters across a diverse portfolio of clients. From large-scale urban developments to transformative infrastructure projects, you’ll handle critical aspects of planning law, working alongside a talented team to provide innovative, client-focused legal services. With a focus on delivering first-class results and exploring the benefits of legal technology, this role is ideal for someone eager to make an impact within a growing, ambitious team.

Key Accountabilities

Advisory and Drafting: Provide clear, strategic advice on all aspects of planning law, including section 106 agreements, planning appeals, and environmental issues. Draft, negotiate, and advise on complex planning agreements and statutory instruments.

Project Involvement: Take a hands-on approach in managing and supporting large-scale planning projects, from residential developments to infrastructure and regeneration schemes.

Client Engagement: Build strong, lasting relationships with clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and priorities. Provide solutions-oriented advice, aligning with both commercial and legal objectives.

Innovation and Legal Tech: Drive efficiency and enhance client service through the use of legal technology. We’re looking for someone who’s excited about exploring innovative tools that improve service delivery and streamline workflows.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver comprehensive planning advice, contributing to cross-functional projects and supporting the team’s knowledge sharing and development efforts.

About You

Experienced Planner: At least 4 years of post-qualification experience in planning law within a reputable UK law firm.

Technical Skills: Proven expertise in complex planning matters, with a solid track record in handling agreements, negotiations, and planning applications.

Client Focused: Ability to deliver exceptional client service, building trusted relationships with clients and maintaining a commercial, client-centric approach.

Innovative and Tech-Savvy: A genuine interest in leveraging legal technology to enhance service delivery and improve efficiency.

Ambitious and Collaborative: A proactive, team-oriented professional who’s excited about contributing to a
