Job Overview
As a Banking & Finance Partner at Acuity, you will play a pivotal role in leading and expanding our banking and finance practice. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team of legal professionals, advising a diverse range of clients on complex financial transactions and regulatory matters. This position offers a unique platform to showcase your expertise, drive business development initiatives, and contribute to the continued success and growth of the firm.
Key Accountabilities
To play a pivotal role in leading the Banking & Finance team, helping to drive market share and brand presence, managing a varied caseload of Real Estate matters, and working with the wider business. To provide expert, knowledgeable and complex legally sound real estate finance advice.
- Acting for clearing banks as well as several international lenders, mezzanine lenders, real estate funds and various high profile corporate borrowers. You will provide strategic lead advice and representation on all types of banking and finance matters, including but not limited to syndicated lending, acquisition finance, asset finance, project finance, and debt restructuring.
- Lead and oversee complex financial transactions, from structuring and negotiation to execution and closing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with banking and finance transactions, providing innovative solutions to protect clients’ interests and enhance their commercial objectives.
- Mentor and supervise junior members of the team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment conducive to professional growth and development.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively pursuing new business opportunities, networking with industry stakeholders, and participating in marketing initiatives to expand the firm’s client base and market presence.
- Stay abreast of developments in banking and finance law, regulatory trends and market dynamics, contributing insights and thought leadership through publications, presentations and participation in industry events.
Essential Skills
- A qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum 10 year’s post-qualifying experience.
- Strong Banking & Finance experience gained at a City or national law firm.
- Commercial astuteness with a passion for keeping up to date with key legal and business news.
- A proven track record of delivering technical excellence and in leading workstreams and negotiations.
- First class relationship building skills and the ability to develop and cement internal and external relationships.
- Proactive ‘Can do’ attitude with a flexible approach to working under pressure.
